Presentation of the tribute to Rodis Roufos by "Nea Hestia", in cooperation with Hestia Publishers...
The latest issue of "Nea Hestia" (1856, December 2012), is a tribute to Greek diplomat and author Rodis Roufos (1924-1972). Roufos served the Greek Consulate in Nicosia, Cyprus, from 1954 to 1956, during the struggle for independence in Cyprus. Parallel to his diplomatic career, Roufos wrote many novels. In 1960, he wrote and published an almost militant novel in English, the Age of Bronze, in an effort to draw the attention of British public opinion to the fair struggle of the Greek Cypriots.
Speaking at the event will be Thanassis Valtinos (author, member of the Greek Academy), Nikos K. Alivizatos (Professor, Athens University), Loukas Roufos (lawyer), Miltos Frangopoulos (art historian, author and translator) and the director of the journal, Nikos Karapidakis.
