David Mason

David Mason, Poet Laureate of the state of Colorado (2010-2014) and teacher at Colorado College, is the author of the collection of essays The Poetry of Life and the Life of Poetry (2000), and Two Minds of a Western Poet (2011) and has edited and co-edited several anthologies and textbooks. Mason has also written the libretti for composer Lori Laitman’s opera of The Scarlet Letter, her operatic adaptation of Ludlow, and her oratorio, Vedem. He has lived in Kardamylli, Peloponnese, and has traveled extensively in Turkey and Greece, where he has met many Greek authors. His work titled News from the Village (2010) is a memoir about Greece.

Invited by the Hellenic American Union and the Poets Circle, David Mason will read his poems in English. Poet Yiorgos Chouliaras will read their translations in Greek.
