Painting exhibition by Lea Rousopoulou, curated by Louisa Karapidaki, on the occasion of the International Museum Day…
Lea Rousopoulou, member of Studio Glass International movement, resumes her painting ventures, after many years in the service of three-dimensional sculpture compositions with glass, as an interlude in her hitherto artistic creation. This time, Lea Rousopoulou chooses the egg tempera as her medium of expression, a technique that allows her to wield clear outlines, limitless color varieties and tint gradations.
Lea Rousopoulou was born in Athens in 1949 and studied Painting and Glass at the Central School of Art and Design in London, Graphic Design at the Έcole Superieure des Arts Modernes, in Paris, Painting at the Academie Goeutz in Paris and Painting at the workshop Sarafianos in Athens. She has presented solo exhibitions at the Galleries Skoufa, Thema, and To Trito Mati in Athens and at the Galleries Sculptures in Paris, and Kargados in Tiengen, Germany. Works of hers are on permanent exhibition at the Macedonian Museum of Modern Art, Thessaloniki, Greece, the Museum of Modern Art, Rhodes, Greece, the Library of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Istanbul, Turkey the Glasmuseum, Ebeltoft, Denmark and in private collections.
The exhibition is hosted in collaboration with the Hellenic American Education Center and the Kresow Museum of Poland and the Museum for the Acritans of Europe in Palaeochora of Chania, Crete.
