Photographic Pairs 2015
The series of exhibitions in cooperation with the “Photography Circle” continues with the photo exhibition of Nana Karamaghioli and Christos Kopsahilis...
Each exhibition in series Photographic Pairs features the work of two photographers, both members of the “Photography Circle”, whose paths in life or photography cross. In some cases the featured photographers will be relatives or dear friends; or it may be that their subject matter or approach will be common. They may also be related by the substantial difference of a seemingly common work.
The new photographic pair are Nana Karamaghioli and Christos Kopsahilis, which are among the first members of the Photography Circle since its inception in 1988.
Τhis year's twin exhibition at the Hellenic American Union bears the special mark of time, underlining through their photos the similarities and differences of a common and parallel course. First of all, they are connected by the long-standing friendship between them, as well as their equally long-standing relationship to the "Photography Circle." Another connecting link is their photographic method. The work of both contains no flourishes or excesses and neither of them has ever strived or jostled for personal recognition. Instead they have both discreetly and silently produced their personal work, a small part of which is displayed at the present exhibit.
Platon Rivellis, photo critic and founder of the "Photography Circle", is curator of the exhibition series.
