those little anodynes
Eleni Theofilaktou and Eva Marathaki present a visual arts exhibition inspired by Emily Dickinson…
The Hellenic American Union and Hellenic American College (HAEC) in collaboration with Hellenic American University (Manchester, NH, USA) present a visual arts exhibition entitled those little anodynes* with works by Eleni Theofilaktou and Eva Marathaki. The exhibition is curated by Gelly Grindaki and is organized on the occasion of 185 years since the birth of renowned American poet Emily Dickinson.
The works by the two artists, Eleni Theofilaktou and Eva Marathaki, profoundly share the reflection on the contemporary, diverse formation of the female identity. Their affinities find fertile grounds for development through the dialogue that unfolds having as an epicenter the American poet, both as creator and as a fictionalized persona.
The exhibition those little anodynes is supplemented by a program of parallel events, including an event dedicated to Emily Dickinson and guided tours.
*The title of the exhibition is from Emily Dickinson’s poem “The heart asks pleasure first”.
