The President of the Spanish-Hellenic Cultural Association and former Director of the Instituto Cervantes Atenas, Eusebi Ayensa Prat, examines in his new book the most important points of contact between the Spanish and Greek folklore through a fresh and original, comparative lens, based on systematic bibliographical, archival and, at times, on-site research of Greek and Cypriot folklore, on the one hand, and Spanish and Catalan folklore, on the other. “These studies form undoubtedly a valuable contribution to Greek folklore literature, while at the same time offering a breathtaking journey through Mediterranean folk cultures, songs and traditions of peoples united by the sea and brought into contact with each other over the course of several historic milestones staged in the Mediterranean,” notes Manolis Varvounis in the book's foreword.

Speaking about the book will be Manolis Varvounis, Professor of Folklore at the Democritus University of Thrace and editor of the book, Athanasios Markopoulos, Professor Emeritus of Byzantine Literature at the University of Athens and Eusebi Ayensa Prat, Author of the book.

Introductory remarks will be made by Michalis Meraklis, President of the Hellenic Folklore Company and Professor Emeritus at the Universities of Ioannina and Athens.
