The Animal Rights movement believes that animals have needs and basic rights, such as the right to life, freedom, and non-violence. People need to respect and honor these rights just as they respect and honor human rights. Panelists: Tom Regan (pioneering philosopher on the theory of animal rights), Theodosios Pelegrinis, Evangelos Protopapadakis and Elena Papanikolaou (professors of philosophy) as well as representatives of political parties. Writer and journalist Giannis Zisis will open and coordinate the discussion.The event is organized by members of the non-governmental organizations PANDOIKO, POFYZO and SOLON with the support of the Hellenic American Union.
