HAU young students keep alive the flame of love
Dec 17, 2014 - Dec 18, 2014
The young students of Hellenic American Union participated in the Christmas Bazaar to support FLOGA, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer.
The Christmas Bazaar in support of FLOGA, the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, was held on 17 and 18 December at Hatzikyriakos Gikas Gallery, at Hellenic American Union, and exceeded all expectations.
The Bazaar, which was organized by the Young Learners and Adolescents Program, was embraced with enthusiasm and fervor by parents, teachers and visitors. Christmas is a celebration of love, joy and goodwill to our fellow human beings. Our young students experienced the Spirit of Christmas by creating and offering Christmas crafts such as cards, ornaments, little Christmas trees, Christmas gifts and handmade pastries.
Gallery Hatzikyriakos Gikas was decorated and well prepared with tables, where the handicrafts of children had been placed. Once the doors opened to the public, the gallery was flooded with people who came to recognize the efforts of the children and support a charitable purpose. FLOGA translates as flame in English, and the children felt very pleased, not only because they saw their handicrafts sold out but also because they contributed to keeping alive the flame of love.
