On Saturday, January 19, 2013, the EcoFans walked through the labyrinth of tiny streets in Plaka and talked about the old houses in the neighborhood. They visited the Vryssaki Gallery, where they had the chance to see how old houses were reconstructed and got an overview of the kind of cultural events this venue hosts. Next, they visited one of the traditional houses in the area and enjoyed the view from its balcony, observing the historical sites that have characterized the city of Athens over the ages: the Ancient Agora of Athens, the Observatory, the Acropolis and Monastiraki. EcoFans and their friends observed, recorded and discussed the current state of the neighborhood, compared it to the old one, and got to know both better through the vivid stories of its residents.
Saturday, January 19, 11:00am -1:00pm
Meeting point: Monastiraki metro station (Exit: Monastiraki square), at 10:30 am.
