Graduate Record Examinations® (GRE®) Subject Tests

The GRE® Subject Tests are seven achievement tests, each measuring knowledge of a particular field of study.

Who are the GRE® Subject Tests for?

The GRE® Subject Tests are intended for students who have an undergraduate major or extensive background in one of the following seven disciplines:

  • Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Literature in English
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Psychology

(The GRE® Computer Science Test was discontinued following the April 2013 administration.)

How can the GRE® Subject Tests be used?

The GRE® Subject Tests are used to evaluate students for graduate programs, business schools and fellowships.

Where and when are the GRE® Subject Tests administered in Greece?

The Hellenic American Union is an official test center in Greece only for the GRE® Subject Tests.

Τhe GRE® Subject Tests are administered three times a year, in April, October, and November.

The next available examination dates at the Hellenic American Union are the following:

  • April 16, 2016
  • September 17, 2016 (not available)
  • April 8, 2017
