Local press report
Local authorities announced yesterday that a new school building will be built to replace the existing one, which dates from the early 20th century. Construction is expected to begin next fall. Essay Topic

The quality of education we receive in school depends on many factors: the quality and number of teachers and the learning resources and textbooks students have. Many would also say the environment in which we learn also plays a part. What do you think a modern school building should provide students in the way of facilities and equipment? Give examples to support your view.

While the ten finalists were writing the final essays, their teachers and relatives participated in an open discussion with members of the Hellenic American Union Center for Examinations and Certifications. When the final stage writing event was over the candidates and the other guests attended a presentation on the life and work of the American writer Ernest Hemingway.

Following the presentation the Center for Examinations and Certifications of the Hellenic American Union distributed awards of recognition to the Language Schools with the greatest number of contest participants.

The Essay Contest Participation Awards were presented to:

  •  Vatmanidou Pinelopi - Valsamidis Konstantinos, Thessaloniki
  •  Deniozou Anastasia, Athens
  •  Karagianni-Hatzi Vasiliki, Korinthos
  •  Maratou Stamatia, Patras
