Visit to the National Historical Museum
On September 28, 2010, students from our Beginner and Intermediate 1 and 2-level courses visited the National Historical Museum, which since 1960 has been housed in the neo-classical Old Parliament Building.
This building, designed by the French architect F.Boulanger, was founded in August 1858 and was the first Greek Parliament. The Historical and Ethnological Society collections include flags and trophies, weapons, sculptures, medals of the 1821 War of Independence, and a large collection of national costumes.
This visit broadened the knowledge students had of Greek history and civilization. The day finished with a coffee at a nearby café.
