Field trip to the National Art Gallery
Our students along with their teachers, went to the National Art Gallery to admire the works of the well-known Colombian artist Fernando Botero.
On June 1, 2006 – last day of the March-May 2006 period – students from two Advanced I and Advanced II classes, along with their teachers, went to the National Art Gallery. They also visited the Gallery’s permanent collection and talked in Greek on the evolution of Greek art from the 18th century until now, and how it was influenced by artistic movements worldwide. That was a good chance for the students to learn about another aspect of Greece, one they might have been possibly ignoring so far. Two and a half hours later, coffee was all the more appropriate! So, students went to the Gallery’s café and practiced their Greek some more, by talking about the lessons that had just finished and their summer plans. The students were not only satisfied with the field trip but also with the courses they had followed!
