One-day excursion to Nafplion and Mycenae
Students and teachers from all levels participated in a cultural excursion.
On Saturday, 24 February 2007, students and teachers from all levels participated in a cultural excursion to Nafplion and Mycenae.
On their way there, students had the opportunity to hear from the experienced tour guide interesting historical information on Daphni, the island of Salamis, and the city of Megara. In Nafplion, students visited the Venetian castle of Palamidi and the small fortified island of Bourtzi, and walked on the beach and the picturesque narrow streets of the historical center. In Mycenae, they all admired the Lion Gate, the renowned tomb of King Agamemnon, and the other archeological findings and learned about a young dreamer - the archeologist Schliemann - who managed to bring all this to light.
The day ended with a meal at a well-known restaurant of the area and promises for a new excursion on the first opportunity.
