New Student Intake for the Hellenic American University PhD in Applied Linguistics
The Hellenic American University is accepting applications for the new cohort of students in its PhD program in Applied Linguistics. The degree program is a unique opportunity for students of Applied Linguistics and also professionals in Translation to pursue advanced study in their fields.
What is new about this Program?
- The Program was developed by an international board of scholars in Applied Linguistics and Translation in cooperation with Prof. Dr Basil Hatim and is currently chaired by Prof. Dr Juliane House.
- It combines residential courses conducted in intensive two-week residencies in Athens with extended on-line faculty contact in pre-scheduled sessions. In this way, the program is ideal for those who do not wish to stay in Athens for a long period.
- It uniquely balances the study of theory with issues in professional practice.
- PhD students become well-equipped practitioners with a solid theoretical background by grounding their expertise in contemporary theory.
Classes begin in February 2010
