The Hellenic American Union’s mission as a catalyst for forging bonds of understanding between cultures is reflected in its numerous links with other cultural and educational institutions, state agencies, private foundations, and other cultural centers in the United States, Europe and Greece. Universities

Office for Language Assessment (OLA), Hellenic American University

The Hellenic American University Office for Language Assessment (OLA) develops two suites of English language tests, ranging from A1 to C1 levels: one suite of tests for young learners aimed at the A1 and A2 levels – the School Tests for Young Learners of English (STYLE), comprising STYLE 1, STYLE 2, STYLE 3 and STYLE 4 – and one suite of tests for adolescents and adults aimed at the B1-C1 levels – the Basic Communication Certificate in English (BCCE™) at B1 level, the Assessment Board for Language Examinations: Level B2 (ABLE B2) at B2 level, and the Advanced Level Certificate in English (ALCE™) at C1 level. The OLA also develops a test for Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), the English Teaching Competency Test (ETECT) which replaced the Communicative English Teaching Test (CETT) administered from 2007 to 2014. The Hellenic American Union is the official and exclusive representative for all the above-mentioned tests.

The University of Michigan

The University of Michigan consistently ranks among the top public universities in the United States due to, among others, its top-ranked degree programs, its libraries, laboratories and research facilities, and its internationally eminent faculty. Numbers of this great University’s operations are equally impressive: 28 schools and colleges in the State of Michigan; 571 major buildings; more than 8.5 million library volumes; more than 6,000 regular faculty members; about 58,000 students (Fall 2010); more than 4 billion Euros total revenue for operating activities (2009-2010). In 2010, the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge created Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments (CaMLA) which, in 2018, announced its new name and look as Michigan Language Assessment.

Business Management Consultants, USA

In 2002, the Hellenic American Union, with the backing of Business Management Consultants, an international consulting firm specializing in Project Management training and consultation, introduced the Center of Excellence in Project Management.

ISACA Athens Chapter

Since 2005, the Hellenic American Union hosts the operations and several events of the Information Systems and Control Association’s Athens Chapter. In addition the ISACA Athens Chapter supports our events and trainings.

PM-Greece

We associate with PM-Greece, the national member of the International Project Management Association, providing preparation courses for the certificates of IPMA and hosting the examinations.

Project Management Institute

The Hellenic American Union Center of Excellence in Project Management is a Global Registered Education Provider of PMI. All our courses are accredited by PMI and offer PDUs for certification purposes.

International and Greek Examination Boards

Center for the Greek Language, Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs

The Hellenic American Union (HAU) is an official examination center for the national certificate of Modern Greek, which has been developed by the Center for the Greek Language, a non-profit organization supervised by the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.

CITO

CITO consultants worked with the Hellenic American Union and the Hellenic American University from 2004 until 2007 to provide support in test construction and validation of the Basic Communication Certificate in English (BCCE™) and Advanced Level Certificate in English (ALCE™) examinations.

Educational Testing Service (ETS)

ETS develops and administers more than 12 million tests worldwide, among which the TOEFL, GMAT, GRE, SAT and TOEIC. The Hellenic American Union has been the sole representative for the TOEIC in Greece since 2000.

Institute of Linguists, London, U.K.

The Hellenic American Union has been an official test center for the Diploma in Translation examinations of the Institute of Linguists, London, UK since 1997. As an official IoL test center the Hellenic American Union has worked closely with the Institute of Linguists in developing and offering a two-year program in professional translation which leads to the Diploma in Translation examinations of the Institute.

International Project Management Association

We host the official examinations of the International Project Management Association, under the supervision of PM-Greece their national member for Greece.

Pearson VUE

The Hellenic American Union is an authorized VUE Testing Center. It delivers certification examinations for companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Sun Microsystems - SAI, CompTIA, IBM, NCLEX, The American College, NASD, the UK Teacher Training Agency, VERITAS, IBM Tivoli, VMware, Adobe and many other testing programs.

Michigan Language Assessment

In Fall 2010, the University of Michigan and the University of Cambridge, both institutions with a long and distinguished history in of language assessment, teaching, and research, agreed to collaborate in the field of testing and created a new non-profit entity called Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments (CaMLA).
In Spring 2018, CaMLA announced its new name and look as Michigan Language Assessment. Michigan Language Assessment continues as a joint venture between Cambridge Assessment English and the University of Michigan, developing outstanding English language tests and offering a comprehensive and flexible set of the highest-quality products and services to help educational, governmental, and private-sector institutions meet their language-assessment needs. The specific joint venture has been developing outstanding English language tests such as the following: Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English (ECCE) at the B2 level, Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English (ECPE) at the C2 level, Michigan English Test (MET) at the A2-C1 levels, MET Go! at the A1-B1 levels, and Michigan Young Learners English (MYLE) – MYLE Bronze, MYLE Silver και MYLE Gold – at the A1-A2 levels. The Hellenic American Union is the official and exclusive representative for all the above-mentioned tests in Greece and the Balkans.
