The Sense and Aesthetics of Time

Jul 24, 2010 - Sep 3, 2010

The Hellenic American Union to collaborate with the 10th Naxos Festival...

The Bazeos Tower

Time and the various ways it has been represented and expressed have always occupied human beings. As a philosophical, theological and scientific concept, as a political, socio-economic system, as well as a physical, intellectual, and spiritual entity, time has influenced and shaped men and women throughout human history. But in the post-Einstein period, the meaning of absolute time and space has disappeared, replaced only by events, energy, and matter.

Τhis year’s 10th anniversary of the Naxos Festival is dedicated to these very events and to the people who have given so much of their time and energy to the Festival for ten consecutive years. We will be celebrating these 10 years, and the 20 years since the creation of the Cultural Organization “AEON”, whose very name is synonymous with time, with activities that concern the inevitable dialogue between time and art. The interior of the Bazeos Tower will be given over to fairy tales to host the audiovisual installation “Strange Tales for the Curious”. The festival also includes music, theater, documentaries and seminars.
