Plato at Olympia tells the story of young Plato and his attempt to succeed in the Olympic Games. The book’s author, Stephen G. Miller, provides young readers with an enjoyable, memorable and historically accurate introduction to Olympia, the Olympic Games, and the Olympic Ideal. Miller is a former Director of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. He has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Athens, and has been honored by the President of the Hellenic Republic for his excavations in Nemea and his important work on site.
Panelists include: Dr. Vivi Vassilopoulou (General Director of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture), Panos Valavanis (Professor, University of Athens), Konstantinos Georgiades (Rector Emeritus, International Olympic Academy and Associate Professor, University of Peloponnese), and Stephen G.
