With a special emphasis on participant's questions, Andreas Manolikakis will talk about various issues related to theater. He will discuss among others Stanislavski system and the Actors Studio method, theater education, directing, acting, translation, reviewing, text analysis and the profession of actors. The event is of special interest to actors, directors, play writers, screen writers, translators and theatrologists.
Andreas Manolikakis is a lifetime member and a member of the Board of Directors of the Actors Studio and Chairman of the Actors Studio Drama School (Master of Fine Arts) Program at Pace University in New York City, where he teaches acting and directing. He has taught workshops in acting, directing and script analysis in New York, Athens, Berlin and Paris. . He has also given lectures on Stanislavski’s System and the Actors Studio Method in Universities, Drama and Cinematography schools in Greece and abroad. As a director and actor has worked in the U.S. and Europe (on Broadway, at the Actors Studio, the National Theatre of East Paris and elsewhere). He directed and acted in numerous plays from the Greek and international repertoire for the New Hellenic Stage of New York, which he founded in 1983. He has translated into Greek the book Vakhtangov’s School Of Stage Art by Nikolai Gorchakov, which was published in Athens in 1997. He holds a BA in acting from the Greek Art Theatre Drama School in Athens, founded by Karolos Koun, and an MA in theater from the University of Paris VIII-Vincennes. He also studied with Marcel Marceau at his International School of Mime in Paris. Andreas Manolikakis is included in the Marquis Who’s Who biographical archives for his contribution in education. At the Actors Studio, he is a Lifetime Member and a member of the Board of Directors.

Due to limited seating those interested in participating should at first fill in an application form (314 KB, in Greek). The form should be forwarded via email at culture@hau.gr with a short CV attached or submitted in an envelope to the reception of the Hellenic American Union (Massalias 22, Kolonaki). The submission deadline is on Monday 8 December 2014. Participation in the event will be possible after approval of the application.
