Online discussion on Architectural history and the contemporary city as part of History+ Lab by the Hellenic American Union
On Monday, November 2, 2020 at 19:00, the Hellenic American Union will host an online discussion organized as part of our new public history workshop History+ Lab. The discussion will focus on the use of architectural heritage in the life of a contemporary Greek city: How can the city’s industrial, residential and architectural history be a driving force to improve everyday life? Can the history of buildings, streets and public spaces be used as a tool to provideopportunities for creative renewal at a local level? Can there be a relevant design(regeneration)?
The discussion seeks to bring together the views of civil society, non-profit organizations in the relevant field, the academic community and representatives of the public sector.

Irini Gratsia, Archeologist and Coordinator of Monumenta
Efthimios Bakogiannis, Secretary General for Regional Planning and Urban Environment, Greek Ministry of Environment, Assistant Professor, National Technical Univesrity of Athens 
Prodromos Nikiforidis, Architect, Nikiforidis/Cuomo Architects
Costas Tsiambaos, Assistant Professor at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens 
Kostas Tsaousis, journalist of the newspaper “Kathimerini” coordinates the discussion
