Plato’s Academy
Visit to the archeological site, where Plato taught at his famous Academy. Members and their guests participated in discussions, presentations and activities related to the flow of the Kifisos River towards the city of Athens.

Visit to the archeological site where Plato taught at his famous Academy. In antiquity this site was outside the fortification of the city of Athens. It touched on the banks of the Kifisos River and it was full of olive trees.
The EcoFans team
- observed the current condition of the archeological site
- visit ed monuments at the location
- learned about the flow of the Kifisos River towards and from the city of Athens
- were informed about the new museum of the city of Athens to be constructed on the site and exchanged views on this prospect
The visit will took place on Saturday, March 19, 2011, 10-12 am. During the visit Mr. Kostas Makris from the French National Research Institute (CNRS) talked to EcoFans Club members and guests about the Academy and Plato's philosophy and revealed interesting details about the site and its history.
