Certificates

Language School Owners and teachers of English
  • The Hellenic American Union Center for Examinations and Certifications ships the University of Michigan ECCE and ECPE certificates as soon as the test developer makes them available.
  • Shipping is done by courier service and is free of charge.
  • Certificates are delivered to candidates care of the Language School Owner or teacher who has registered the candidates.
Individual candidates
  • If you wish to have your certificate sent:
    • Download, complete, and sign the relevant application.
    • Send the completed application with a photocopy of your ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification ("tautoprosopia" with a photograph stamped by Public Authority or driver’s license).
      Send the documents mentioned using one of the following ways:
      • By mail: Didotou 15, 10680 Athens or Fragkon 14, 54626 Thessaloniki
      • By fax: 2103634200 or 2310553925
      • By email: certificates@hau.gr

  • If you wish to collect the certificate yourself from the Hellenic American Union Athens or Thessaloniki offices:
    • Download, complete, and sign the relevant application.
    • Bring the completed application to the Hellenic American Union with your ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification ("tautoprosopia" with a photograph stamped by Public Authority or driver’s license).
  • If you wish your certificate to be collected by a first-degree relative (father, mother, brother, sister) from the Hellenic American Union Athens or Thessaloniki offices:
    • Download, complete, and sign the relevant application.
    • The first-degree relative must bring the completed application to the Hellenic American Union with his/her own ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification and the candidate’s ID card or passport or photocopy of the candidate’s ID card or passport.
  • If you wish your certificate to be collected by a third party from the Hellenic American Union Athens or Thessaloniki offices:
    • Download, complete, and sign the relevant application.
    • Download and complete the relevant authorization form (Declaration of Law 1599/1986). Verify the authenticity of your signature on the form at a police station or Citizen Service Center (ΚΕΠ).
    • The authorized third party must bring the completed application and the authorization form to the Hellenic American Union with his/her own ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification and the candidate’s ID card or passport or photocopy of the candidate’s ID card or passport.
Damaged certificates
  • Michigan Language Assessment reissues damaged certificates provided that candidates submit a request not later than 24 months after the exam date.  
  • The reissue of a certificate due to damage of the original is charged with administrative costs.
  • Procedure for reissue of a certificate due to damage:

1. Download, complete, and sign the relevant application .
2. Submit to the Hellenic American Union (Didotou 15, 10680 Athens or Fragkon 14, 54626 Thessaloniki) the following:

  • Completed application form.
  • Plain photocopy of ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification ("tautoprosopia" with a photograph stamped by Public Authority or driver’s license).
  • Damaged original certificate. In case of total damage, include Declaration Form of Law 1599/1986 stating that the original certificate has been totally damaged. Verify the authenticity of your signature on the form at a police station or Citizen Service Center (ΚΕΠ).
  • Bank deposit slip of administrative costs for the reissue of the certificate.
  • After 24 months after the exam date, via the relevant webpage of Michigan Language Assessment, candidates may request from Michigan Language Assessment to issue a results verification statement.
Lost certificates
  • Lost certificates are not reissued.
  • The Hellenic American Union can issue a certification of loss of a certificate for use in Greece.
  • The issue of a certification of loss of a certificate is charged with administrative costs.
  • Procedure for issue of a certification of loss of a certificate:

1. Download, complete, and sign the relevant application .
2. Download and complete the relevant Declaration Form of Law 1599/1986. Verify the authenticity of your signature on the form at a police station or Citizen Service Center (ΚΕΠ).
3. For the receipt/shipping of the certification, follow the procedures that apply to receipt/shipping of original certificates for individual candidates.

  • In case candidates wish to use a similar document abroad, they may request from Michigan Language Assessment to issue a results verification statement via its relevant webpage
Correction of names
  • Upon announcement of results, candidates must check whether their personal details are correct. 
  • Any requests for correction of names are satisfied free of charge, provided they are made within 5 working days the latest from the date of announcement of results.
  • After 5 working days from the date of announcement of results and not later than 6 months after the exam date, any correction is charged with administrative costs.
  • Procedure for correction of names:

1. Download, complete, and sign the relevant application .
2. Submit to the Hellenic American Union (Didotou 15, 10680 Athens or Fragkon 14, 54626 Thessaloniki) the following:

  • Completed application form.
  • Plain photocopy of ID card or passport or any other legal document of identification ("tautoprosopia" with a photograph stamped by Public Authority or driver’s license).
  • After 6 months after the exam date, via the relevant webpage of Michigan Language Assessment, candidates may request from Michigan Language Assessment to issue a results verification statement. The statement will include the candidate’s personal details duly corrected. 
Other requests

The Hellenic American Union Center for Examinations and Certifications can accommodate other candidates’ requests such as the following: 

  • Authorization of copies of certificates (administrative costs apply)
  • Translation of certificates (administrative costs apply)
  • Certification of successful participation in examinations (administrative costs apply)
  • Certification of participation in examinations (free of charge)
  • Certification of registration in examinations (free of charge)

For all the above-mentioned requests, candidates must complete and sign the relevant application. For the receipt/shipping of authorizations, translations, and certifications, candidates follow the procedures that apply to receipt/shipping of original certificates for individual candidates.
