Anastasia Karakitsou
Teacher of Greek

Anastasia Karakitsou holds a B.A. in English Language and Literature (major in Linguistics) from the University of Athens, and an M.A. in Professional Language and Intercultural Studies (Distinction) from the University of Leeds, UK. She is bilingual in Greek and English, and has studied German, Turkish, French and Japanese.

She has attended various seminars and workshops on teaching, translation, and subtitling. Most recently she has attended the conference “Language Teaching and Learning in the Modern Educational and Social Context” organised by the University of Western Macedonia (2-4 July, 2021), and the nine-month training programme “Intercultural Education for Students with a Refugee and Migrant Background” from the University of the Aegean (2019-2020).

Anastasia has worked as a teacher of English as a foreign language, as an Admissions Assistant at the University of Leeds, and as a teacher of Modern Greek as a foreign and as a second language. Since 2017 she has been volunteering as an EN>GR translator and proofreader for the website https://centerforinterculturaldialogue.org/.
