A tribute to Manolis Anagnostakis’s emblematic anthology "Chamili Foni" (The Low Voice), revisited through the perspective of contemporary Greek poets
Thirty-five years after the landmark publication of Manolis Anagnostakis’s Chamili Phoni, in which he anthologized “traditional” metrical poetry with rhyme—from Lorentzos Mavilis (1860–1912) to Fotos Paschalinos (1913–1943)—contemporary poets select, reread, and comment on poems from the collection.
In the first event of their fifteenth year, the poetry series Words (can) do it makes yet another “stop” in its ongoing revisitation of the modern Greek poetic canon.
