A drawing exhibition by the American surrealist artist in cooperation with the Cultural Organization of the Municipality of Kalamaria...

Marie Wilson - Hypnotic Tracings

Marie Wilson is one of the most significant women painters of Surrealism. Born in Cedarville, California in 1922, she completed her studies in fine arts and later traveled to Paris. During her stay there she met André Breton who introduced her to the Surrealist movement. The drawings presented in the exhibition, reveal Marie Wilson’s strong attraction towards the automatism of symmetrical shapes characterized by extraordinarily complicated forms - strictly limited and at the same time expansive.
