A photography exhibition by Ilias Bourgiotis on the occasion of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and presentation of his album of photographs with the same title...
The photographer focuses his camera not on the athletes, as one would expect, but on the spectators. In this way these photographs of such a publicized event as the Olympic Games acquire a new, artistic dimension.
Ilias Bourgiotis was born in 1956 in Athens, where he lives and works. From 1990 until 1996 he traveled all over Greece taking photographs of the country. In 2004, his collection of works European South was presented at the Museo della Città di Collegno in Turin and at the International Photographic Month of Bratislava in Slovakia. His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions, both in Greece and abroad.
