A visual-arts group exhibition with works by Greek artists inspired by the written word...
Many contemporary artists began to experiment with the use of writing in their work by first using letters or words and later passages from a book or even whole manuscripts, books, newspapers, letters, or music scores.
The artists participating in the exhibition work with the written word in various ways. Some explore writing as history, others as an aide-memoire, still others as music or painting. Some artists investigate the relation between paper and writing, or the rhythms of the marks made by writing or the texture/textile of writing. Other artists work with writing as code or visual and symbolic gesture, still others with writing as voice or unvoiced sound, writing as non-writing. Art historian Iris Kritikou curates the exhibition.
