A play about the relationship between a man and woman, as told through their 50-year-long correspondence…
The heroes of A. R. Gurney’s play, which was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, are the serious, conscientious lawyer, Andy Land, and the vibrant but labile artist, Melissa Gardner. During the course of the performance, the two read to the audience letters they wrote to each other over a period of 50 years; the viewer thus becomes witness to a bittersweet love story between two radically different characters.
Anna Gerali and Kostas Kastanas star and co-direct the performance. Marlena Georgiadi has translated the play in Greek.
The performance is one of a number of parallel events that have been organized in the context of the visual-arts group exhibition In-scribe.
