Structures and Technology in Music Composition

Apr 13, 2010

Lecture in English by composer Leontios Hadjileontiadis, and a concert of electro-acoustic music...

Leontios Hadjileontiadis

In his lecture entitled Compositional Structures and Technology Leontios Hadjileontiadis explores the interactions between technology and music creativity, using both a micro- and macro-structural approach for the organization and implementation of a musical work-event. He presents trends and domains for the promotion and evolution of such interactions, such as the electro-acoustic approach, interactive environments, experiential perception-neuroaesthetics, complexity, mathematics.

A concert of electro-acoustic music follows at 20:30 featuring works by: Alexandros Apostolidis, Panagiotis Kokoras, Dimitris Maronidis, Leontios Hadjileontiadis and Esthir Lemi. Performing artists: Angeliki Kathariou (mezzo soprano), Asterios Zacharakis (violoncello) and Lenia Tsigeridou (dance).

The event has been organized in cooperation with the Greek Composers’ Union and the Hellenic American University.
