Away we “fly”… with help and cooperation
An experiential educational program for children and parents by Maria Lagonika, as part of the joint action “Network Onboard” by the Network of Museums and Cultural Institutions of the Athens Historical Center…
The Network of Museums and Cultural Institutions of the Athens Historical Center has organized the second joint action of the member-institutions. On this occasion the Hellenic American Union presents the educational program entitled Away we “fly”… with help and cooperation. A traditional tale offers the stimulus and a theater game becomes the vehicle to travel to the edge of the world in order to help the hero of the story and his five friends find the bird with the golden wings and earn the gifts promised by the king.
Parents and children participate in the dramatization of the story and join forces to accomplish a difficult mission. Children and adults observe and experience the importance of collaboration and mutual help through theater game techniques, like improvisation and games of cooperation. Ms. Zoe Valassi helped us discover the traditional tale “Five Friends” on which this experiential action is based.
The program is intended for children aged 5 to 7 years old. Parents participate and cooperate with the children during the event.
