Memories of a Stranger in a Foreign Land
Greek folk music evening with Epirote musician Lakis Chalkias, on the occasion of the release of his new album, “Memories of a Stranger in a Foreign Land”…
“Memories of a Stranger in a Foreign Land”, the new album by Lakis Chalkias includes twelve folk songs from Epirus, which were selected from Vasiliki and Thomas Scotes’ book A Weft of Memory, A Greek Mother’s Recollection of Folk Songs and Poems (Ariside D. Caratzas Publications).
The event, which will make a mention of the work of Vasiliki and Thomas Scotes, features the premiere presentation of the new album by Lakis Halkias and a concert of well-known folk songs, performed by Lakis Halkias, Nota Kaltsouni and the Epirus Polyphonic Group “T’ aitergia”, with the participation of a five-member band.
