The Whisperer in Darkness

The films are being shown in cooperation with the 6th International Film Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic (SFF-rated ATHENS 2011). Official guest of the event is Sean Branney, director of the film The Whisperer in Darkness, which is being premiered in Greece as part of the SFF-rated ATHENS 2011.
The film The Whisperer in Darkness (USA 2011) is an adaptation for the cinema of H.P.Lovecraft's (1890-1937) novel of the same title. Lovecraft is an important author in the fantasy genre and has influenced renowned writers such as Stephen King and Clive Barker but also film directors such as John Carpenter.
During the evening, which is the opening event of the festival, the  film Call of Cthulhu (47'), which is based on a novella by Lovecraft, will also be screened and an extract and the trailer of the film The Whisperer in Darkness. The director will talk about the two films and a discussion with the public will follow.
