Garzon will present the life and works of the late 18th-century Czech composer, J.L. Dussek, and perform a selection of his most representative piano sonatas, including "Le retour à Paris", "Lamentation" and Op. 23, Op. 10 no. 2.
Maria Garzοn studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Lubeck and Cologne Music Universities. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall and many other known venues all around the world. She has recorded for BBC, RAI, RTVE, SWF, and WDR, and recently recorded Dussek’s piano concertos for the KOCH label and the complete piano music by Joaquin Rodrigo for ASV. Maria Garzοn has taught for many years at the Royal Academy in London.
