The Modern Harpsichord
Soloist Julie Ventoura, in a concert offering a panorama of the greatest 20th century composers…

Julie Ventoura will be performing premiere works for harpsichord written by four Greek composers, especially for this concert: Mermaid’s reply by Pavlos Ventouras, the Prelude and Cantilena by Babis Kanas, Dance in the Sand by Konstantinos Lignos and Zen Poem and Prelude by Spiros Mazis. Julie Ventoura will also perform the premiere of John Cage’s In a Landscape (1948) for harpsichord.
Participants: Maira Milolidaki (shoprano), Antonis Yamvrias (flute), Anastasia Miliori (violin) and Ilias Kountis (director).
Julie Ventoura has studied harpsichord at the Athenaeum Conservatory and has participated in master classes with renowned composers. Her repertory extends from early baroque composers -especially German- to modern music. She has performed over thirty concerts and has recorded twelve works. She is the founder and Director of Nikolaos Mantzaros Conservatory, the most acquainted school of early music in Greece and curates concerts and educational workshops with worldwide known artists.
The event is organized in collaboration with the Greek Composers Union, the Hellenic American Education Center and the Hellenic American Union.
