Enhanced Results Coming For ECCE & ECPE
In 2014, CaMLA will phase in an enhanced results reporting system for the ECCE (Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English) and the ECPE (Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English). This system will have two important features:
- Test takers will receive a scaled numeric score for all four sections of the exam.
- Test takers whose average score for all four sections is equal to 650 or higher will pass the exam and receive a certificate

Scoring the ECCE Writing Section
The ECCE 2014 Enhanced Scoring System: Writing Samples and Commentary (PDF) contains benchmarks that have been prepared by trained raters at CaMLA. It demonstrates how the ECCE Writing Rating Scale (PDF) can be applied to arrive at an analytic rating for the ECCE writing section. A passing score on the writing section is a numeric score of 650 or higher.
