Preschoolers ∙ Fun Time Courses
The program aims at a friendly and smooth introduction to the English language. It includes songs, hands-tasks, games, fairytales and activities based on multi-sensory learning methods, such as TPR and S.P.I.C.E.
Upon completing the course, students are typically expected to be able to:
- understand and follow simple instructions in English,
- use basic language structures,
- interact with their immediate environment, e.g., greetings among their classmates and teacher,
- recognize and understand simple patterns of communication related to themselves and their daily routines.
The course typically consists of activities appropriate for the children’s cognitive and developmental level such as:
- Getting acquainted with the class routine through songs and chants
- Acting out songs, chants, stories and poems with gestures and movement
- Describing familiar matters by painting pictures or sorting pictures following a chronological order
- Repeating words, simple phrases or expressions from familiar stories as a whole class
- Matching symbols to visual stimuli
- Role-playing in pairs or groups
- Refining fine motor skills through tasks such as:
- putting puzzles together
- using scissors
- holding and using crayons and markers correctly
- copying and producing simple shapes and symbols
- Refining gross motor skills through tasks such as:
- running
- neuromotor and muscle coordination
- bouncing and catching balls
- carrying items
- balance and movement accuracy
