The Hellenic American Union is participating in the “Cultural Actions 2023” organized by the Network of Museums and Cultural Organizations of Athens in collaboration with OPANDA. On Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 11:00 to 18:00, 12 museums and cultural organizations in Athens join forces once again to invite children and adults to the welcoming, green spaces of the Eleftherias Park for a festive two-day event featuring educational cultural programs
During this weekend, the Hellenic American Union presents the educational program "Eupo-Eupo! The Unique Heroes of Alki Zei Come to Life", inspired by the exhibition "A Fairy Tale for Alki", displayed in the galleries.
“Kaplani of the Showcase,” “Petros’ Big Stroll,” and “A Child from Nowhere” are just a few of the stories gifted to us by Alki Zei. In her books, besides entertaining, humorous, and brave characters, the author always included an animal—a loyal friend, companion, or an exotic creature that “decorated” a living room. In this program, young participants will meet the turtle Theodoros, the Kaplani of the Showcase, and the parrot “the Boy”, explore their stories, and choose one to create their own imaginative story. Those who wish can also give voice to the animal heroes in English, as Alki Zei’s wonderful world of books is known internationally.
Program Schedule:
- Saturday, September 30: 12:00–13:00 (in Greek)
- Sunday, October 1: 13:00–14:00 (in English)
