Lecture by the Minister of State and Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis
By digital transformation, we mean all organizational changes within an institution to meet the demands of the modern digital era. The lockdown made this adaptation even more urgent, and many organizations, including the Hellenic American Union, rushed to adopt a digital strategy and invest in digital skills, enabling them to remain productive, collaborate, and manage communities remotely in areas such as education and culture, among others.
In his lecture at the Hellenic American Union, Kyriakos Pierrakakis will outline the challenges of the era and the changes digital transformation brings to society, the reforms that have been implemented in digital governance, and those planned for the future. He will also explain what “smart cities” mean and how the Ministry of Digital Governance supports municipalities across the country in adopting smart initiatives and applications.
The discussion on smart cities is connected to the exhibition “Polykatoikia” and to a series of similar events that the Hellenic American Union will organize for Athens’ neighborhoods and landmark buildings that will benefit from the program.
