OECD – Geopolitical Theory and Diplomatic Practice

Presentation

Hellenic American Union Theater

Georgios-Stylianos Prevelakis, Emeritus Professor of Geopolitics at Panthéon-Sorbonne University (Paris I), presents his new book at the Hellenic American Union Theater

The book explores the role that the OECD can play in today’s world. As Panagiotis Pikrammenos notes in the book’s foreword: "I believe that the OECD is the only existing organization that could host a 'Democratic Commonwealth of the West,' as demanded by the times. Greece played a significant role in the creation and development of the OECD. Later, by prioritizing the European Union, it somewhat reduced its presence. In the new European and international context already described, I consider it in our country’s best interest to reinvest in this Organization."

The presentation will feature:

Dimitris Avramopoulos, former European Commissioner, Member of Parliament
Louka Katseli, Emeritus Professor at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, former Director-General of the OECD Development Centre
Tatiana Spinari-Pollali,
PhD in Art History – Director of Art Spaces
Angelos Syrigos, Professor of International Law and Foreign Policy at Panteion University, Member of Parliament (Athens A)

The discussion will be moderated by Antonis D. Papagiannidis, journalist and lawyer.
