Led by Nikos Vatopoulos, we explore the elegant Palace District of Athens, discovering traces of the past, the stories of the city, and the ways in which we remain connected to its history
This new walking tour is part of a series of guided walks organized by the Hellenic American Union, offering the opportunity to discover different facets of central Athens. Starting from 22 Massalias Street, we will walk through Kolonaki, make our way down Irodou Attikou Street, and explore the distinguished neighborhood surrounding the former Royal Palace.
Along the way, we will see the Maximos Mansion, the apartment building designed by architect Takis Zenetos, the Presidential Mansion, as well as Interwar-era buildings and characteristic urban apartment blocks. We will walk along Rigillis Street, passing by the site of Aristotle's Lyceum, enter the garden of the Byzantine and Christian Museum, and conclude our tour at Evangelismos Park.
