PMP stands for Project Management Professional. It is a professional certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI)®.

With more than 1 million certified professionals, PMP is considered the gold standard in the project management field, and the most widely recognized project management certification worldwide.

The PMP certification delivers value far into the project manager’s career. CIO magazine ranked the PMP as the top management certification because it proves you have the specific skills and experience employers seek.

PMP certification holders report earnings up to 25% higher than non-certified professionals.

The Hellenic American Union offers the Prep Course along with PMI accredited trainers to help you prepare for the exam.  



To qualify for the PMP exam, you must meet the following eligibility requirements set by PMI:

Either: a secondary degree (i.e. high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent) with 60 months leading and directing projects along with 35 hours of project management education

or: a four-year degree with 36 months leading and directing projects along with 35 hours of project management education. 

Exam format

  • 180 questions
  • 230 minutes to complete the exam
  • Question format: multiple-choice, multiple responses, matching, hotspot and limited fill-in-the-blank

When and where can I take the test

You may take the test anytime, anywhere.

Online exam availability at a Pearson-Vue Center.

Online exam availability from anywhere (online proctoring).

Once you pay your exam fees you are ready to schedule your PMP exam anytime, either at a Pearson-Vue Testing Center or even from your home, through online-proctoring at a time of your convenience.

How do I apply for PMP?

You apply online via the PMI website at www.pmi.org.

Once you start filling in your application, you have 90 days to complete it.
