Process of rescoring

The exams administered by the Hellenic American Union are scored by the test developers under strict quality control conditions. These measures ensure the accuracy and validity of the results.

However, you can arrange to have your exam rescored, if you wish, for a fee and within the timeframe set by the test developer. You can submit a rescoring request by signing in to your Orfeas account. Then:

  • If you are a language school owner or an English teacher, select “Additional Services”, then “Buy additional services”, choose “Rescoring request” from the list provided, and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If you are an individual candidate, select “Additional Services”, choose “Rescoring request” from the list provided, click “Select”, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: If you are a candidate who was originally registered by a teacher but now wishes to submit a rescoring request independently, you may do so by completing the following form and sending it to exams@hau.gr

ECPE Rescoring request form

In any case, the result of the rescoring will be sent to you via email.

As indicated in section 9, “Grading and examination results”, of the Examinations and related services regulations:

  • You must submit the rescoring request form within the specified deadline. We cannot accept rescoring requests beyond this date.
  • We advise you not to request a rescoring of the Listening (ECCE, ECPE), GVR (ECCE), and GCVR (ECPE) sections. The bubble sheets for these sections are scored electronically with exceptionally high levels of accuracy so it is very unlikely that the scores will change.
  • The scores given after rescoring are final and cannot be changed.
  • If the scores after rescoring are higher than the initial ones, rescore fees are refunded and a new score report or certificate is issued.
