After its brief Covid break, our book club is now back stronger than ever! This year, our Adol D and pre-ECCE students were given the opportunity to read Matilda by Roald Dahl while our pre-ECPE students were introduced to Jerry Spinelli’s Stargirl. Unique as the female protagonists they feature, both books sparked the creativity of our young readers who channelled their energy into most inspiring projects! And, just like that, we were spoiled for choice…alternative book cover illustrations, character portraits, book trailers, videos, unconventional interviews with the protagonists and the author, book endings with a plot twist and secret characters revealed by our inquisitive readers!But if you thought that that was all for our book club, think again!
This year, our students were not only readers but also interviewers of an author! Stella Kasdagli, a published writer and the official translator of Stargirl in Greek, had the pleasure of responding to all the interesting questions that our students asked, turning our online meeting into a most lively podcast!
