Books share their own fates with their readers… That’s exactly what Umberto Eco believed and that’s exactly our book club’s motto!
This year, the book club initiated us into the alternative way of thinking of an autistic child through the book Who Killed the Dog in the Night Time (by Mark Haddon) and taught us the joy of selfless giving and kindness through the book Pay it Forward (by Catherine Ryan Hyde).
With thought-provoking assignments, catchy titles, interesting covers, short films and of course plenty of plot twists at the end, all student members of the club showed us how reading can be different, special and ‘personal’ when it speaks to our hearts! At the end, we promised each other to meet again next year! Meeting point? The very first page of that book we haven’t read just yet…
