In a talk dedicated to parents, Dr. Dimitris Tolias explored the growing presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our lives, in education, and in the world of work, with an emphasis on the future. Focusing particularly on how these changes affect today’s young teens, he discussed the challenges and opportunities that AI brings, reminding parents of the crucial role they play in this transformation, as well as the importance of using language, and especially English, effectively.
As Dr. Tolias noted, work is shifting from doing to thinking and creating, with AI now serving as a personal learning assistant. New professions are emerging, while traditional ones are being reshaped. But as he stressed, the future belongs to those who ‘learn how to learn’ with AI. The advent of machines, he concluded, should not be seen as a threat but as a new opportunity for creativity, progress, and personal growth.
