Thinkeroo #3, February 2026

YL1 & YL2 classrooms, Kaplanon 12

The third Thinkeroo event of the school year was… groovy! Our young learners met one of the coolest characters in children’s literature, Pete the Cat, through the much-loved book by Eric Litwin. 🐈

In their reading circle, YL1 & YL2 students followed Pete on his walk as he proudly showed off his favourite shirt with its four groovy buttons. But oh no! One by one, the buttons began to pop off! Did that stop Pete? Goodness, no. Instead of getting upset, Pete kept singing, smiling, and enjoying the moment. As the story unfolded, students discovered that even when things don’t go as planned, we can still stay positive.

Through Pete’s story, the students explored the value of positive thinking and talked about how it feels when something breaks, changes, or doesn’t turn out the way we expect. But do we cry? Goodness, no. The reading was followed by a series of creative activities, singing, and plenty of dancing.

By the end of the session, one thing was clear: it’s not about how many buttons you have left on your shirt, it’s about keeping your smile and staying groovy no matter what! 🎶😊
