The 5th Thinkeroo event focused on travelling! Our students in the Young Learners 1 (YL1) & Young Learners 2 (YL2) classes packed their bags and followed Peter Pan & Freddy Frog on their amazing journeys!

In their reading circle, YL1 students read the book Peter Pan, by Person English.* As you most probably already know, in the story Peter Pan and his friend Tinkerbell visit John, Wendy and Michael who live in London. Our young learners followed them on their journey; they learned about London’s most famous landmarks, and they got carried away by Big Ben’s chime! And just before setting sail for Neverland, our students had a stopover in Athens. They talked about the city and imagined their very own Neverland cos pirates, Captain Hooks & magical fairy dust we may not have, but who said we cannot fly? Fly above the classroom walls!

YL2 students’ reading circle formed around the book Freddy Frog climbs a mountain, by  Express Publishing.* Once upon a time, Freddy the Frog lived in Green River. He led a peaceful life; calm as still water. But Freddy’s heart was set on travelling. Enough with the same old same old. He wanted to travel, see new things, and take A LOT of pictures with his camera. So, he packed his bag, he went on his merry way, and his dream became true! Our students followed Freddy Frog’s adventures to the top of the mountain! By the end of the story, the young learners agreed…As much as they all like traveling and sleeping under the stars on holiday… there’s no place like home!
