Andreas Manolikakis
Acting and Directing Professor- Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio
Andreas Manolikakis is a professor of acting and directing, director, actor, and author, as well as a Lifetime Member of the Actors Studio. From 2006 to 2020, he served as Chair of the Master of Fine Arts Program at the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York. He taught acting and directing at the Actors Studio Drama School and served as Chair of the Directing Department from 1995 to 2026. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Actors Studio from 2005 to 2025.
He has conducted masterclasses in Acting, Directing, and Script Analysis and delivered lectures on “The Roots and Development of Stanislavski’s System and the Method” at the Actors Studio, international theatre festivals, universities, national theatre and film schools, and theatrical and cultural organizations throughout the United States and Europe. As a director and actor, he has worked in the United States and Europe, including on Broadway, at the Actors Studio, and at the National Theatre of East Paris. Andreas Manolikakis is included in the Marquis Who’s Who biographical directories for his contribution to education. He is the author of Method Acting: Myths and Realities. A Personal View (Armos Publications, 2026); the Greek translator of Nikolai Gorchakov’s Vakhtangov: Lessons in Directing and Acting, first published in Greece in 1997 and republished by Armos Publications in 2025; and the author, in collaboration with Natasa Bastea, of the biographical book In the Spotlight (Sta Fota, Armos Publications, 2024).
Andreas Manolikakis understands the work of Stanislavsky and Vakhtangov better than any teacher or interpreter since Lee Strasberg was teaching at the Actors Studio.
