Nicos Kourounakis

Nicos Kourounakis is a Management Consultant, Trainer and Author. Since 2011 he has been leading consulting projects at major EU Institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Council, the European Central Bank, the European Investment Bank, and several EU Agencies.
Nicos has also been involved in international projects in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg, Greece and across Europe, working both with public entities, large organisations as well as with smaller ventures and startups.
He is the Author of the PfM² Guide for Portfolio Management (2021), the PgM² Guide for Programme Management (2022), the PM² Addendum for Sustainability (2024), the PM² Addendum for EU-Funded Projects (2025), and a book about Effective Intelligence (FI) (2026).
He is also the Co-Author of several European Commission Publications such as the PM² Project Management Methodology Guide (2012, 2016, 2018, 2023, 2026), the Agile PM² Guide (2014), PM²-PgM Programme Management Guide (2024), the PM²-PfM Portfolio Management Guide (2017, 2025), the ITSRM Guide on IT Security Risk Management (2020), the DSMF Guide for the Management of Digital Solutions (2024), and the ENGAGE Methodologies Suite of the European Parliament (2022).
Mr. Kourounakis also has over 20 years of experience in training and public speaking. As an Adjunct Professor at the Professional MBA program of the Hellenic American University in Athens, Greece, he has taught courses and delivered seminars in Project Management and Agile, Portfolio Management, Organisational Change Management, and Operations & Supply Chain Management. 
He holds an MBA from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, a MASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Victoria, Canada, and a BSc in Physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
