The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam provides certification for those who want to prove their ability to use English on an everyday, academic or professional basis. Offered entirely online, the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam brings the convenience of flexible scheduling and the comfort of testing from one’s own home, provided there is appropriate equipment and access to the Internet. It is developed by ETS® Global, the leader in the field of testing and assessment. 

What is the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam?

The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam is a friendly and accessible test designed to measure accurately language proficiency levels among non-native speakers. The scores achieved by the test takers indicate how well they can communicate in English with others in a social or workplace situation.

This innovative test is designed to evaluate all four essential English language skills - listening, reading, speaking, and writing - providing a comprehensive assessment of a test taker’s English language proficiency.

How can the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam be used?

As a criterion for:

General

The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam lasts approx. 2 hours and 20 minutes and consists of 109 items.

Listening Skill

The Listening section tests how well test takers understand spoken English. 

Test takers are asked to answer questions based on a variety of statements, questions, conversations, and short talks recorded in English.

Speaking Skill

Test takers respond to prompts that are designed to measure various aspects of their speaking skill.

Test takers are given specific directions, including the time allowed for preparing and delivering their response (responses are recorded).

Reading Skill

The Reading section tests how well test takers understand written English.

To register for the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam, please follow the instructions below:

  1. Read the Examinee Handbook carefully before starting the registration process.
  2. Register for your exam through Orfeas, the Hellenic American Union online registration platform.
  3. If you are under 18 years old, you need to complete the consent form, which must be signed by your parent or guardian. Please send the completed consent form via email to epn@hau.gr within two (2) working days of your registration. 
  4. After completing your registration on ETS® Global, you will receive all the necessary information regarding the exam day directly from ETS® Global at your personal email address.
  5. Finally, you will receive a reminder email regarding your exam forty-eight (48) hours before your exam date.

The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam reports a 4-skill (i.e. Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing) overall score for test takers. Given that the TOEIC® Listening and Reading (L&R) and the TOEIC® Speaking and Writing (S&W) tests report scores on different scales, they cannot simply be combined into a total score. Therefore, scores for each skill are converted into a common 100-point scale so that a combined total score can be obtained. The overall score is the sum of the 4 separate scores, with the total score out of a maximum of 400 points.


Who recognizes the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam?

The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam is recognized by the Private Sector as well as by the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) in Greece, further solidifying its status as a valuable credential for both academic and professional purposes. The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam is recognized and accredited by ASEP, as proof of knowledge of English at the following levels: Average Knowledge (176-205), Good Knowledge (206-303), Very Good Knowledge (304-356) and Excellent Knowledge (357-400).


Results

The results are available via Orfeas approximately ten (10) working days after the exam date.

Language schools and individual candidates receive results by logging in to their Orfeas account.

Candidates who wish to access their results but did not register through Orfeas as individuals but were registered by their teacher or language school should "Register" as new users after 2:00 p.m. on the day following the announcement of the results. From the menu, they should select the "Exam Results" field and fill in the required information to gain access to their results.

How do I register for the exams I want to take?

Create an account on the online registration platform, Orfeas. Then, follow the step-by-step instructions and select the exam you wish to take. In the final step, you will be asked to pay the exam fees using your preferred payment method. All the information you need for exam day will be sent to you via email from ETS® Global.

What if I have a question about the registration process?

If you have any questions about the registration process for the exam, even during the steps of the process, please contact us at 210 3680000 and we will promptly assist you. Our staff is available to help from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for any assistance you need during the registration process, as well as for any other inquiries.

Can I take the exam requesting non-standard test accommodations?

You may request non-standard test accommodations when completing the registration process by using the “Special Conditions” field and uploading the candidate’s documentation. Please note that, as part of its accommodation policy, ETS® Global only offers the provision of additional time.

Can I check the status of my registration after I have completed my application?

Once you have completed your application through the Orfeas online system, you will receive email updates regarding its status from our support team.

How can I change my initial choice after I have registered for a specific exam date?

Please contact the Center for Examinations and Certifications at +30 210 3680000 (Monday to Friday, 09:00–19:00) or via email at exams@hau.gr.

Can I request a rescoring after receiving my results?

How often can I take the exam?

You can take the TOEIC® 4-skill Online Test every three (3) months.

Is the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests recognized abroad?

The TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam is recognized by the Private Sector as well as by the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP) in Greece, further solidifying its status as a valuable credential for both academic and professional purposes. To have the TOEIC® certification recognized abroad, participation in the TOEIC® Public Programme (PP) 4-Skills Online Test is required. The TOEIC® PP 4-Skills Online Test is a specialized and internationally recognized version of the TOEIC® 4-Skills Online Tests exam, aligned with the CEFR levels.
